Raining Rengay is a rengay journal edited by Zoe and Sherry Grant from New Zealand since 2023. It is published both online and in paperback twice a year in April and October. Currently Issue one (April 2023) is in print and available for purchase locally in NZ/Australia — we will aim to make it available internationally soon. If interested in getting a paperback copy please email rainingrengay@gmail.com with your name and country and we will find a way!
The submission period for RR has changed to ongoing. Please send up to three rengay to rainingrengay@gmail.com, clearly stating the author names, countries, email addresses and label at the end of each verse initials of authors (these initials will be removed for publication but indentation and italics will be used to differentiate each poet, please refer to RR Issue One). The editors prefer text in email submission over attachments. Only send attachments if you are submitting a rengayga or your rengay have special format (but make sure you also send another copy of the rengay in text for ease of editing). Please also include each author’s name/email address (as a list at the end of your email submission). Feel free to send a combination of rengay and rengayga. The editors will not be busy editing and not read submissions outside of submission periods. Apart from rengayga, solo rengay are also accepted, although it is much more fun to write with friends! The editors aim to reply to each submission but if you haven’t heard back from us before end of July or end of January about your submissions please do email to check! Sometimes emails go astray… also we LOVE translations, and will aim to publish translations into multiple languages in the online version of RR. Due to limited space in the paperback version, only the English rengay will be published. When submitting a translation of rengay please clearly state the name of the language and the country where it is used.
Don’t forget to sign up for International Rengay Gatherings Zoe and I run twice a year online in March/April and Septmber/October. So far for guest speakers, we have had Garry Gay (USA), Kala Ramesh (India), Ron C. Moss (Australia), Deborah P Kolodji (USA), Michael Dylan Welch (USA), Bryan Rickert (USA), Keith Evetts (UK) and Don Baird (USA). The gathering details are usually announced about 2 weeks before they take place. To be on the mailing list, please email rainingrengay@gmail.com and in the subject state “Sign up for International Rengay Gathering” with your name, country and email address in the email.
